Artist Statement:

My paintings are a visual response to memories and daily life. Through the exploration of line, color, and shape, I find the juxtaposition of these elements that resonate with feelings that cannot be put into words. Often as the painting develops, it raises multiple memories that collide, pushing me to expand my use of those core elements. As the painting becomes clear, I feel different areas expand and contract to build areas of tension and areas to breathe. Although the works are invented, their connection to my lived experiences is what creates both a sense of purpose and substance.
